When it comes to the fault diagnosis of the elevator traction machine, because the structure of the traction machine of each manufacturer is different, the technical requirements are not uniform, so the treatment of specific problems cannot be formulated. This article gives a rough overview of the phenomena, causes and troubleshooting of some common faults and is for reference only.

1 Phenomenon: The horizontal vibration of the traction machine is out of tolerance, and the vibration frequency is consistent with the motor speed.

Reason: 1 The mounting surface of the traction machine base is not flat, which causes the base to be forced to deform, which destroys the geometric accuracy of the traction machine. 2 The motor shaft and the worm shaft have a poor coaxiality, which occurs mostly in the traction machine of the flexible coupling seat type motor structure.

Remedy: 1 Remove the wire rope, loosen the anchor bolt, and let the traction machine be in a free state, and re-adjust the mounting surface of the traction machine base. If the mounting structure of the rubber plate under the base does not need to be taken off the wire rope, it is only necessary to adjust the compression amount of the rubber plate at the foot. 2 Recheck the adjustment of the coaxiality between the motor and the worm.

2 Phenomenon: The motor emits a rhythmic drumming sound, and the frequency matches the motor speed.

Reason: Generally, the tilting of the base of the traction machine causes the motor to reach the extreme position in front of the shaft or backward, and the motor shaft step surface and the sliding bearing end face are caused by friction.

Remedy: Adjust the base so that the traction machine is in a horizontal position or take coercive measures to prevent the motor shaft from moving forward and backward.

3 Phenomenon: When the traction machine brake is braked, there is obvious impact in the car, that is, it will be paused.

Reason: 1 The gap between the brake shoe and the brake wheel is too large, and the international regulations are less than 0.7mm. 2 The axial clearance of the worm shaft is too large. 3 The worm gear pair meshing side gap is too large, which is easy to occur in the traction machine that has been used for many years.

Remedy: 1 Adjust the clearance to the standard requirements. 2 Check whether the worm thrust bearing lock nut is loose. If there is no looseness, the gasket should be thinned to make the clearance meet the factory standard requirements. 3 There are various ways to adjust the center distance of the worm gear pair: bracket type, diagonal block type and eccentric type, but both can adjust the side gap to the factory requirements.

4 Phenomenon: The noise of the whole machine is large, and the noise in the equipment room exceeds 80dB (A).

Reason: 1 The motor winding is faulty, and high-frequency hum is generated, which occurs mostly when the low-speed winding is running, and sometimes when it is running at high speed, which is a motor manufacturing problem. 2 The worm gear pair contact spot position is biased toward the screwing end or the worm gear tooth surface is poorly smooth (prone to the tooth surface of the scraping blade). 3 The thrust bearing on the worm shaft has poor quality. 4 The worm sliding bearing and the thrust bearing oil circuit are blocked, which makes the bearing poorly lubricated. 5 The positioning end face of the thrust bearing is perpendicular to the worm axis, which makes the bearing raceway offset.

Remedy: 1 should be repaired by the motor professional. 2 Adjust the contact area of the worm gear pair to the deflection end. If the shovel is to be scraped, the worm gear should be replaced. 3 Replace the qualified bearings. 4 dredge the oil road. 5 repair or change the bearing housing.

5 Phenomenon: The worm gear tooth surface wears too fast or the glue is broken.

Reason: 1 The lubricating oil is not clean. 2 If the lubricating oil is improperly used or the oil is mixed, the lubricating oil will be invalidated. 3 worm worm gear tooth surface smoothness is poor. 4 oil level is low.

Remedy: 1 Clean the fuel tank and replace the clean new oil. 2 The worm-driven traction machine should use suitable worm gear oil, and different oils must not be mixed. 3 The worm tooth surface should be grounded, and the surface roughness should not be greater than Ral.6. 4 oil level is added to the specified height.

6 Phenomenon: The tank temperature is too high, close to or exceed 85 °C.

Reason: 1 The worm sliding bearing and the thrust bearing are poorly lubricated, generally the oil circuit is blocked or the oil level is low. 2 The worm gear pair contact spot is biased toward one end, so that the side gap is too small. 3 Lubrication failure or improper oil selection.

Remedy: 1 Unblock the oil circuit and add enough oil. 2 Position the worm gear pair contact spot in the correct position. 3 to change the specified worm gear oil.

7 Phenomenon: The oil leakage from the protruding end of the worm exceeds the standard qualified product requirement of 150 cm2/h.

Cause: The shaft end seal has failed or is improperly assembled.

Remedy: 1 For the packing-type sealing device, first adjust the pressing bolt. If it can not be excluded, replace the new asbestos rope. 2 For the mechanical seal structure, it is generally that the moving and static ring end faces are not clean or the end surface smoothness is poor and the assembly is improper to deform the static ring. Replace if it is damaged. The 3J type skeleton sealing ring device is mostly an O-shaped spring opening buckle or the direction is reversed.

8 Phenomenon: The brake is loose or loose when the traction machine starts.

Cause: 1 The electromagnet air gap is too large. 2 coil supply voltage is less than 110V. 3 The hinge shaft of the brake arm is seriously rusted.

Remedy: 1 Adjust the air gap to the design requirements. 2 Increase the supply voltage to 110V. 3 Grind the pin shaft and hole and add appropriate lubricating oil.

9 Phenomenon: When the elevator is switched from high speed to low speed, the traction sheave will be shaken, and the impact sound will be generated in the cabinet, which has a strong sense of suspension in the car.

Reason: This phenomenon is more common in AC two-speed elevators. The switching time is too short when switching from high speed to low speed.

Remedy: Adjust the control time of the time relay appropriately.

10 Phenomenon: The output voltage signal of the tachometer is faster.

Reason: 1 The speed of the speed measuring generator is poor. 2 The traction machine output shaft is inconsistent with the generator shaft.

Remedy: 1 Replace the qualified generator. 2 Adjust the coaxiality to the requirements (except for the structure of the belt drag).

11 Phenomenon: The motor with fan does not start when the temperature reaches the specified value.

Cause: 1 The temperature control relay is malfunctioning or damaged. 2 Thermistor has failed.

Remedy: 1 Repair or replace the temperature control relay. 2 directly supply power to the fan, so that the fan is in the normally open state.
